Karachi: Intelligence Branch arrests another suspect involved in export of onion on fake E-Form

KARACHI: Export Intelligence Branch (EIB) has arrested another accused namely Abdur Rahman, who was involved in export of the onion consignments on fake Form-E to foreign countries.

Sources informed Customs Today that the EIB of MCC-Export has presented the arrested accused into customs court and demanded judicial remand of Abdur Rahman which was further approved by the court.

According to the sources, the arrested accused is in the custody of EIB authorities and they detained him in the lock-up located at the 6th Floor of Custom House.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Customs Court has already ordered the jail custody of two another accused namely Muneer Ahmed and Muhammad Asif, who were also associated with the same case.

It may be mentioned here that the authorities concerned of Export Intelligence Branch (EIB) of MCC-Exports on secret information seized a consignment containing onion amounting to Rs1.6million exported by those accused on fake Form-E.

It may also be mentioned here that the Export Intelligence Branch (EIB) on April-9 registered an FIR against those accused Muhammad Asif, Abdur Rehman and Muneer Ahmed in their alleged involvement in exporting an onion consignments on fake Form-E which causing foreign remittance loss to Rs1.6million.

The Customs authorities after lodging the FIR was demanded 13-day remand of the arrested accused which was ended on April-23 and now the Customs court ordered jail custody of the accused. The authorities have shifted the accused to the Central Jail-Karachi.
