Faisalabad ASO holds 2,345 yards of smuggled woven fabric

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad seized 2,345 yards of dyed woven fabric worth Rs 1.8 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 275,347.

The ASO team on the instructions of the Collector Tauseef Ahmad Qureshi conducted operation to foil the smuggling bid. The team intercepted a mini truck bearing Registration No. LXC-9089 near Narwala Chowk Faisalabad and recovered woven fabric.

Officials asked the driver to produce any documentary evidence showing the legal import and lawful possession, but he could not produce any documents relating to its legal import or lawful on which custom seized the items.
