AFU collects tax of Rs 2.53b in Feb; Rs 208.91m more than previous month

KARACHI: The Air Fright Unit (AFU) of Model Customs Collectorate MCC Preventive has collected revenue of Rs 2537.66 million altogether in the month of February-2015 in different revenue heads including Customs Duty (CD), Sales Tax (ST), Additional Sales Tax (AST), Withholding Tax (WHT) and Federal Excise Duty (FED).

According to the revenue statistics, the Air Freight Unit (AFU) has collected an amount of Rs 855.38 million in share of Customs Duty (CD) in February-2015 while it collected Rs 692.99 million in the same head in last month January.

The AFU has collected Rs 996.82 million in share of Sales Tax including the sum of additional Sales Tax in February-2015 while it collected a sum of Rs 993.36 million in the same heads in last month.

The Air Freight Unit has collected the revenue of Rs 685.46 million in share of Withholding Tax (WHT) in February while the unit collected Rs 642.37 million as WHT in Jan-2015.

The AFU has collected Rs 0.01 million in share of Federal Excise Duty (FED) in the month of Feb-2015, while it collected Rs 0.03 million in the same head in the month of January.

The Chief Collector Enforcement-South Nazim Saleem and Collector MCC Preventive Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda expressed their satisfaction over the increase in revenue collection of AFU as compare to the previous month i.e. January-2015.

Both the high officials of Pakistan Customs lauded the performance of the authorities concerned at AFU and asked them to continue their same efforts in order to increase the revenue collection in all heads.
