Collector Reza vows to clear refund claims by June 2017

SIALKOT: Model Customs Collectorate Collector Ahmed Reza Khan has vowed to clear pending tax refunds before June 2017.

Ahmad Reza was talking to business community at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Wednesday. He added that the Sialkot Customs has already issued cheques worth Rs 1,100 million to exporters in wake of refund claims.

He said that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan was taking keen interest to clear the refund, as he has asked the federal government to settle the matter so the exporters could play their role to increase the exports. He informed that the Prime Minister was also interested in resolving the refund issues.

The collector said that the exporters are real asset of country because they earn foreign exchange to strengthen the national exchequer, adding that the Ministry of Finance has approved handsome amount to clear the tax refund claims. He further said that the Sialkot Customs will soon issue cheques to exporters.
