Appraisement-East recovers Rs 3.62m from Flaying Paper Industries

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East has recovered Rs. 3.62 million from M/s. Flaying Paper Industries Limited by applying correct PCT heading.

According to the details, M/s. Flaying Paper Industries Ltd. Imported a consignment of Paper Drying Machinery parts with Goods Declaration (GD) No. 100338 dated February19, 2015 under PCT: 8419.9010 paying only 5 percent Customs Duty.

While assessing the consignment, it was pointed out by the Customs officer at Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East that the goods came under another PCT heading with Customs Duty 20 percent. The customs found that total tax levied on consignment was Rs. 3.62 million, while Flying Paper Industries paid only Rs. 0.97 million before the assessment.

Therefore, the due tax Rs 3.62 million has been recovered from the said company after applying correct PCT.
