LAHORE: The Customs authorities deployed at Allama Iqbal International Airport foiled a bid to smuggle 500 donkey hides.
Official sources told Customs Today that on the information of additional collector of customs Jamil Nasir, the export section of the airport recovered unclaimed 500 donkey hides.
Sources said that the skins were dumped for many days and no Goods Delectation (GD) was filed.
When the authorities searched it was found that 500 donkey hides were packed tactfully.
The sources said that initially it was not known who was the owner of the donkey hides and to which country these skins were to be exported.
The sources said that investigations are under way which will reveal further information in this regard.
