Businesses being secured by curbing smuggling: Deputy Director Salman Afzal

SIALKOT: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Deputy Director Salman Afzal has assured the business community that all out sincere efforts are being made to ensure the business security through halting the smuggling.

He stated this while addressing an important meeting of the Gujranwala traders and businessmen held at Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI). President GCCI Sami Ullah Naeem chaired the meeting.

Deputy Director Salman Afzal sought the active cooperation of the business community in curbing the smuggling of different products and valuables. Saying that the checking of the business luggage was not meant to add into the difficulties of the businessmen, he added that the efforts were also being made to safeguard the rights of the business community by ensuring the minimum documentation of their luggage. He said that the businessmen having the sales tax invoices of their business luggage should not be afraid of anything.

He said that the business community has been playing a pivotal role in strengthening the national economy of the country, saying that the effective and revolutionary policies of the government were paving the way towards the goal of national economical stability as well.

He pledged amicable solutions to all the perturbing problems being faced by the business community.

On this occasion, GCCI President Sami Ullah Naeem said that the smuggling of international products and valuables from different countries to Pakistan was harming the business community. He assured full cooperation of Gujranwala business community to curb the menace of the smuggling.
