It is pertinent to mention here that Abdul Rashid Shaikh has conducted several revenue related meetings of the collectorates last month.

The sources further said that the customs authorities have utilized their maximum efforts in order to achieve the revenue target set by the Federal Board of Revenue-FBR for the FY2015-16. However, due to decline in importer during the last two quarters would affect the revenue collection, but the customs authorities have managed the shortfall through other means including pursuing the legal cases of the collectorates, verification of post clearance data of imported consignments.

The sources further said that the decision of Chief Collector Appraisement (South) Abdul Rashid Shaikh regarding imposition of ban on transfer/posting during the last quarters of the FY2015-16 is also put a positive impact on revenue generation, as the principal appraisers, appraisers and examination officers had no choice in front of them rather to focus on revenue collection and clearance of the imported consignments.
