Court bars customs officials to arrest owners of private hospital

MULTAN: The Special Court  bars Customs team to arrest owners as well as the directors of a local private hospital during the hearing of a case of income tax and it has also been ordered that the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue would  submit  the complete record of this case on Dec 14, 2015 in the court.

The court also granted the permission to the owners and directors of the private hospital to submit their income tax statements during this period as the owners of the hospital made an appeal to the court in this regard.

It is pertinent to mention here, that the Customs Intelligence Inland Revenue team raided on a private hospital located near Chungi No 9 and during this the Customs officials had taken its financial records alongwith the computers into their custody to investigate the actual earning of the hospital under the section 175 of  Income Tax Law 2001.

It is said that the earning of the hospital is in millions in a month but it  pays a nominal tax to the tax department.
