Court extends judicial remand of alleged gold smuggler

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent a suspect of gold smuggling to jail after extending his judicial remand for 14 days.

As per details, Muhammad Rizwan, the alleged smuggler, was earlier on a judicial remand of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation for interrogation.

The officials of Model Customs Collectorate Preventive had confiscated seven kilogram of gold from his [Rizwan] possession at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, when he was trying to smuggle gold to Dubai through Emirates flight EK-622.

It may mention here that the customs authorities have registered second case of gold smuggling from and into country during November, 2015 making a total seizure of 11 kilograms of gold.
