Customs Appraisement collects Rs6696m duty, taxes in Dec 2016

LAHORE: Collectorte of Customs Appraisement has collected Rs6696 million revenue including all duty and taxes during the month of December 2016-17.

As per details, the Collectorate under the supervision of Collector Customs Appraisement Muhammad Sadiq collected Rs 2763 million under the head of customs duty during the period under review.

The Collectorate collected Rs 3467 million under the head of sales tax revenues during the month of December 2016.

Similarly, the Collectorate collected Rs464 million under the head of withholding tax (WHT) during December financial year 2016-17.

The Collectorate collected Rs 0.86 million as federal excise duty (FED) during the month of December 2016-17 against the target of Rs 0.3 million during the same period of last financial year 2015-16.

Over all the Collectorate collected Rs 6669 million revenue including all duty and taxes during the month of December financial year 2016-17.

The Collectorate collected all the revenue from Mughalpur Dry Port, Thokar Niaz Baig, Prem Nagar and other stations.

The collection has been made on account of duty and taxes on import and export from all the dry port in and around Lahore

Sources said that collector of customs Appraisement instructed additional collector of all stations to collect as much revenue as they can do to achieve the financial year target of the Collectorate for the financial year 2016-17.

It was added that the collector himself has been visiting all the stations and meeting the officials to facilitate businessmen and collect the important revenue.
