Customs Car Cell impounds NDP Toyota Land Cruiser from Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Car Cell impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser Lignes worth of Rs6 million from Rawalpindi on Thursday.

Sources told Customs Today that in pursuance of the information shared by Collector Zulifkar Ali Chaudry the car cell established a picket at the Chandni Chowk and intercepted a non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser Lignes  model 2003, the sources added that after interception the owner of the vehicle run away from the mark.

The sources told that the car cell impounded the vehicle and brought it to the state ware house, adding the estimated value of the vehicle is Rs6 million, it added that after getting the laboratory reports FIR will be lodged against the owner of the NDP vehicle whereas for further investigation the case has been forwarded to the Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) department.

The authorities concerned revealed that the car has been impounded under Section 16 of the Customs Act 1969, it was added that the car was came from Peshawar and was roaming in the Rawalpindi city. The car cell have impounded 43 NDPs in worth of Rs.160.34 million during first 10 months of FY2017-18 the sources said.
