Customs, Chinese agencies keen to arrest culprits of 20,000kg explosives export

KARACHI: The Directorate Customs Intelligence and Investigation (Enforcement) has deepened the investigation of more than 20,000 kilograms explosives seized during a raid at the Karachi Port Trust.

According to the source, Customs Intelligence and Investigation officers are in contact with the Chinese intelligence agencies to capture the main culprit involved in exporting the prohibited material to Pakistan.

The intelligence agencies in China as well as the Directorate Customs Intelligence and Investigation (Enforcement) officers in Pakistan are very keen to sort out the matter and to wind up the case as soon as possible, source added.

Acting on information provided by Peshawar intelligence, Custom Intelligence on 7th January raided Karachi port and discovered 22000 kilograms of explosives from a container. The said container was exported from China for Karachi and the container was registered in the name of a company in Rawalpindi.
