LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved judicial remand of Ghulam Ali and Muhammad Waqas, who were allegedly involved in alcohol smuggling from India.
Sources told Customs Today that the two suspects were arrested by the Punjab Rangers near Wagah border while making an attempt to smuggle Indian alcohol with the collaboration of Indian citizens. A team of Punjab Rangers arrested both smugglers and handed them over to Batapur police. Cases was registered against them for smuggling and illegally crossing the international border.
On Monday, the investigation team presented them before the Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling. The court sent them to jail for judicial trial and also asked investigation team to complete their interim challans until the next hearing.
