Customs Court to hear case against Bio Amla directors on Monday

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling may announce Kashif Zia as proclaimed offender due to his continued absence from the court on Monday.

On the other hand, director of Bio Amla Cosmetics Company has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) for bail. The LHC will soon hear the bail plea.

In Special Court of Customs, the Bio Amla tax evasion case had been scheduled for many times but the director of the company failed to appear in the court which may create more hurdles for their case defense.

Earlier, the director of Bio Amla Cosmetics fled from the court premises after Customs Court rejected his bail plea in mid of November  2015. After cancellation of bail plea, he is absent from the court.

Bio Amla Company was showing sales record very low as compared to the original sales. In this regard, he was brought to the court by the Federal Board of Revenue Lahore authorities.

According to details available to Customs Today, Kashif Zia, the owner of Bio Amla Shampoo Company, was involved in tax evasion of Rs 13 million.
