The sources said the customs authorities demanded legal documents against the auto parts but the drivers failed to produce any relevant legal documents against the loaded auto-parts.

The sources informed that after being fully satisfied, the customs authorities impounded the two trucks and seized in the name of the state.

The sources further reported that these spare parts were being smuggled in the Lahore market in the disguise of cabins.  The smuggled items were being brought to Bilal Gunj Market for commercial purpose, it was told.

The sources said that the customs team was constituted by Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Zeba Hai Azhar while it was led by Deputy Director Ali Zen Khan.

On the other hand the drivers were of the view that the spare parts were imported legally and they would produce the documents of clearance.

However, the customs authorities after registering a case have started further investigations into the matter.
