ISLAMABAD: The last month of the current Financial Year (FY) 2016-17 will comprise 23 days against 30 days of June because of Eid holidays which will start from 23rd of June. The Customs Department appreciated the officials to meet the assigned target for the month of May FY2016-17.
Chairman Federal Board Revenue (FBR) asked the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) to gear up their efforts to meet the allocated targets for the next month of June FY2016-17. He also directed the Customs Department to enhance their efforts to meet June’s earmarked target in 23 days.
According to Dr. Arslan, Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad, Chairman FBR held a video conference on 1st of June FY16-17 which was attended by all the officers of the MCC Islamabad including Chief Collector North Sarwat Tahira Habib at the Headquarters’ conference room.
Collector Islamabad said that the chairman appreciated all the customs departments for showing excellent performance during initial 11 months from 1st of July to May FY2016-17. He added that the chairman asked the Customs Department and IRS to expedite their efforts to meet June’s assigned revenue targets under all the heads.
He told the officials concerned about his meeting with chairman and informing him of the hurdles in collection of revenue and he promised him to settle their problems as soon as possible. He said the Member IR and Member Customs also addressed the customs collectorates’ officials and motivated them to gear up their efforts to meet the June’s allocated revenue target. The chief collector also lauded the FBR to present a very positive budget FY2017-18.
