ISLAMABAD: Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rawalpindi has seized smuggled electronics and ladies cloth worth Rs 3.5 million.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs seized Rs 3.5 million of smuggled goods having duty and taxes of Rs 1.5 million in anti-smuggling drive in Rawalpindi. The officials recovered ladies cloth worth Rs 2.2 million from a bus bearing registration No. Z-176 on GT Road. The bus was coming from Peshawar.
While during another crackdown near Attock Customs authorities intercepted a bus bearing registeration No. P-1142 and recovered electronics goods worth Rs 1.3 million. These smuggled items also involves duty and taxes Rs 1 million approx. The Customs Intelligence staff has registered separate cases against them and forward the cases for further investigation to adjudication department.
