Customs seizes 1300 bags of urea worth Rs 130 million

ISLAMABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta has seized 1300 bags of urea worth of Rs 130 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigations Imtiaz Ahmad received secret information regarding smuggling of urea to Afghanistan.

Receiving the tip off, Director Imtiaz Ahmad directed Quetta Customs to take effective measure to halt the smuggling attempts.  The customs team intercepted three trucks and recovered 1300 bags of urea. The market value of the seized item is Rs 340 million. Sources said that urea is also used as a explosive material.

Customs team arrested the drivers of the trucks and registered a case against smugglers. Attempts are being made to nab actual culprits behind this smuggling.
