Customs seizes imported vehicle, smuggled goods

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded imported vehicle Stavic and LEDs along with spare parts.

The officials launched a crackdown on smuggled goods after receiving a tip-off. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Additional Director Nisar Ahmad formed a special team in this regard. The team impounded goods that were being smuggled to Multan from Lahore. The worth of seized goods is almost Rs 1 million.

The officials have registered a case after the owner failed to provide import evidence. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has also impounded an imported vehicle Toyota Stavic during routine inspection. The vehicle bore registration number (FSH-5). The department took the vehicle into custody after documents presented proved fake. The worth of the vehicle is almost Rs 3 million.

A first information report has been lodged against the car owner and investigation is underway.
