DG Customs Valuation determines values of Liner Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid

KARACHI: The Directorate General of the Customs Valuation has determined the customs values of Liner Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid (Soft and Hard) vide Valuation Ruling 781/2015.

The practice to determine the values of Liner Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid (soft and hard) vide Valuation Ruling 781/2015 was undertaken under Section 25(A) of the Customs Act, 1969.

According to details, Valuation Ruling No 609/2013 was issued in 2013 by the Directorate General of Customs Valuation. And, since the ruling was quite old besides several representations were received from Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Manufacturers’ Association and importers for re-determination of customs value of said item following its downward trend in prices in the intentional market.

Accordingly, an exercise was initiated to determine the customs value of Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid (soft and hard types) with a view to reflect the current prices prevailing in the international markets.

Accordingly, the customs values of Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid (Soft & Hard types) with PCT Headings 3402.1110 and 3402.1190 of all origins would be assessed to duty and taxes at at $ 1.275/kg while Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid (Soft & Hard types) under PCT Headings 3402.1110 & 3402.1190, Iran imported by land route at $1.25/kg.
