Economy improved due to prudent policies: Dar

LAHORE: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that country’s economy has significantly improved due to prudent policy of the government.

Addressing Income Tax Officers in Lahore the other day, he said the government took the economic problems as a challenge and turned the economy from negative to stable and then positive.

The minister said that the international financial institutions have acknowledged the improvement in Pakistan’s economy. He said Pakistan has the potential to emerge as 18th largest economy by 2050. He said the country’s foreign exchange reserves have also improved.

Dar said the government is working on various energy projects and 10,000MW of electricity will be added to the national grid till March 2018. He said that in addition the government is working on 14,000MW energy projects under medium-term plan and it will help overcome energy shortage in the country.
