DOVER: A woman authorities say was responsible for distributing a large amount of cocaine in and around the township has been arrested and $16,500 worth of drugs seized, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Dover police.
Norma Elena Luna-Arrieta, 41, was hit with nine drug charges after investigators seized more than 165 grams of cocaine, $4,800 cash, cutting agents, drug-packaging materials and digital scales, according to police and the prosecutor’s office.
The prosecutor said in a statement the cash was “drug-distribution proceeds” and the other items were used for selling coke.
“Over the past few months, (investigators) received information concerning high-level cocaine distribution in and around the Dover area,” the police and prosecutor said in a joint statement.
On Wednesday, investigators conducted an undercover investigation resulting in Luna-Arrieta’s arrest, authorities said.
Luna-Arrieta was charged with various counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and one count of second-degree possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park zone.
She was held in the Morris County Jail on $200,000 bail, with no 10 percent option, and will require a bail-source hearing before her release.
