SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has sealed as many as 700 commercial and residential properties in Sialkot district due to non-payment of outstanding arrears in shape of property taxes.
District Excise and Taxation Officer Chaudhary Muzaffar Qayyum told Customs Today that 700 commercial and residential properties have been sealed, besides, impounding as many as 250 unregistered motorcycles and motorcycle rickshaws in Sialkot district during a special recovery campaign.
He added that the excise has collected Rs 130 million as property tax, Rs.120 million as motor registration tax and Rs 30 million as professional tax during the last six months of the running fiscal year 2015-16, which is a record tax collection made here in Sialkot.
