Faisalabad Adjudication orders to impound vehicle

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has declared the confiscation of vehicle lawful after its chassis found tempered with.

As per details, Anti-Smuggling Organisation had impounded a Hino Truck during an action in Faisalabad. The ASO team following credible information established picket near Motorway Chowk Sargodha road, Faisalabad and intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. SEB-103.

The team asked the driver namely Nasir Amin to produce documentary evidence showing its legal import / lawful possession of the vehicle but he remained failed; therefore, the vehicle was impounded.

After confiscation, a forensic test was conducted that revealed that chassis of the vehicle was tempered with. The vehicle was brought into country without the payment of duty/taxes.

The report was presented before the court, where both sides made arguments. The court after hearing the arguments issued Order-in-Original (ONO) and declared the vehicle smuggled one.
