Faisalabad ASO seizes cloth, plastic beads worth Rs 832,195

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized smuggled foreign origin cloth and 375 kilogram of artificial plastic beads worth Rs 832,195 involving customs duty/taxes amounting to Rs 161,791.

As per details, Deputy Collector Muhammad Falik Shair received information regarding the smuggling attempt on which he formed a team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Javed Mehmood, Deputy Superintendent Sardar Muhammad, Inspector Masood Saeed Chohan and Abdul Jabbar and Sepoys Hafiz Naseer Ahmed, Muhammad Ashraf and Naeemullah to foil the smuggling attempt.

The ASO team raided M/S Al-Atif Goods Forwarding Agency, Faisalabad and found 490 kg of cloth worth Rs 471,070 and 375 kg of plastic beads worth Rs 367,125, which were bring into country without payment of duty/taxes as the owner of agency, Fahad and owner of goods, M. Nadeem could not produce documents regarding customs clearance.

The seizure report has been submitted to the adjudication department for further legally process.
