Faisalabad Customs Adjudication orders to impound Toyota Corolla

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed decided vehicle seizure case in favour of Pakistan Customs and ordered to confiscate the vehicle.

As per details, the Mianwali Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) following credible information intercepted a Toyota Corolla bearing Registration LEA-11-9331 near Kundian Mor, Mianwali.

The ASO team asked the owner, Noor Marjan to produce documents showing legal import of the vehicle but he failed to comply with the instructions. Therefore, the customs took the vehicle into its custody.

Later, the vehicle was sent for forensic test and the report revealed that chassis number is tempered with.

Customs Inspector Safdar Ali appeared before the adjudication representing the department and presented the report before the judge. But no one appeared from the respondent side. Inspector Safdar asked the court to order to impound the vehicle under Customs Act, 1969.

After hearing the arguments, the adjudication ordered to impound the vehicle under Section 156(1)89 of the Custom Act, 1969.
