FBR asks MCC Islamabad for details of cases for approval against decisions of FTO & FO

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) asked the MCC Islamabad for details of the number of cases prepared and submitted for approval against the decisions of the FTO and FO to launch a pilot project of Phase-02 of the IRIS Litigation Management System.

According to details given by official sources of the FBR that the Board has asked the MCC Islamabad, Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Large Tax Unit Islamabad and Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office Rawalpindi Islamabad through an official reminder No: C.No.2 (3)S.S(A&A)2016 with reference to the board letter dated 14-02-2018.
The sources told CT that the Board has once again requested the MCC Islamabad, LTUs and RTUs to give details of the numbers of cases prepared and submitted to the competent authority for approval to file the second appeals or rectifications.
Sources told CT that details of the number of cases prepared and submitted for approval and appointment of legal counsel or preparation of power of attorney while number of cases prepared and submitted to the competent authority for approval of parawise comments have been asked to provide.
The FBR asked the above said departments to provide details of number of cases prepared and submitted for proposals for filing of references to /CPLAs/representations for the FBR approval. It was added that the FBR asked the formations offices to provide details of the cases prepared and submitted for approval requests for filling of review or representation against the decisions of the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) and Federal Ombudsman (FO).
It was told that the FBR has asked the formation officers to provide the number of details of cases prepared and submitted for re-appointment of legal counsels.
