KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue decreased tax collection target from Rs 2810 billion to Rs 2605 billion during the current fiscal year. This decision was taken because of short-fall.
According to statistics data available to this correspondent revised target of Inland Revenue is Rs 2350 billion, while Rs 1109 billion will be received through direct taxes. Some official documents also revealed that during the current fiscal year Rs 1091.69 billion will be received through income tax, while Rs 16.22 billion will be received through WWF (workers welfare fund) and Rs 1.93 billion will be received through capitol value tax.
Sources further told that Rs 1082 will be received through federal excise duty, and Rs 159 billion will be received through excise duty.
