KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has deployed tax officers in different factories to stop tax evasion.
Sources told Customs Today that FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa has taken this decision in a meeting during his official visit to Karachi. After this, FBR has started implementing his orders.
As per details, FBR has found that a number of factories are indulged in tax evasion by showing lowest sale and production. FBR has directed Officers to conduct audit of the companies who are involved in tax evasion by presenting wrong statements.
Source said that FBR has already audited over twenty factories including eight sugar mills in SITE area, while deployed tax officers at eight cement factories. Notification of deployment of sales tax officers was issued on Monday, sources added.
