FBR directs IR audit officers to attend training sessions

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has ordered the Inland Revenue (IR) audit officers to attend the training and departmental courses organised by the Directorate of Training.

It is learnt that the FBR has issued orders following the strict instructions and orders of the Federal Tax Ombudsmen (FTO).

The FTO had directed the FBR that audit officers should be made bound for getting training, adding that any audit officer should not be considered eligible to continue his job without training from the said directorate.

The FTO has claimed that audit officers of FBR were not trained when they appeared before the FTO for attending the hearing of some cases. It has further instructed the FBR to select the trained officers to contest the case.
