FBR dissolves Tax Advisory Committee even without holding conference

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue, Regional Tax Office Multan, dissolved the Tax Advisory Committee without holding any conference.

The Tax Advisory Committee was formed by the Regional Tax Office Multan on the directions of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to resolve the genuine tax issues of taxpayers, particularly the business community in an amicable manner. The business community had shown concern over the formation of advisory committee by the Regional Tax Office Multan.

The Advisory Committee was constituted by the Regional Tax Office Multan to broaden the tax net instead of burdening the existing taxpayers of the Jurisdiction and these efforts were made for friendly cooperation between the taxpayers and tax collection department.

Regional Tax Office Multan has dissolved the tax advisory committee without any consultation of the business community, and the committee has not held any conference for resolving taxpayers’ issues.

The Federal Board of Revenue’s Regional Tax Office Multan has formed a new tax advisory committee after dissolving the committee, and the business community raised its concern over newly formed committee.

Chairman of the newly formed tax advisory committee is Chief Commissioner, Regional Tax Office Multan, Dr. Khalil Ahmad. Deputy Commissioner Headquarters has been appointed as secretary committee and other members, Commissioner Inland Revenue Multan Zone, Commissioner Inland Revenue, Corporate Zone, Commissioner Inland Revenue, Withholding Zone, President Multan Tax Bar Association, Bashir Ahmad Ansari, General Secretary Kashif Rasheed, President Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malik Israr Ahmad Awan, General Secretary Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khurram Javed, President Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dera Ghazi Khan Abbas Ali Khan, President Anjuman Tajiran Layyah Seth Muhammad Aslam Khan, President Anjuman Tajiran Khanewal Inamul Haq, President Anjuman Tajiran Dera Ghazi Khan Zulfiqar Ali Khan, Chartered Accountant Younas Ghazi, Talat Javed, President Chamber of Small Traders Zafar Iqbal Siddiqui, Haji Saeed Ahmad and Anwar Saleem.

The Tax Advisory Committee will hold a conference next week to resolve the existing tax issues.
