FBR Intelligence arrests suspect involved in Rs 150m tax evasion

ISLAMABAD: Directorate General Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation has arrested Islamabad Chamber and Commerce and Industry executive committee member and chairmen of sales tax committee Naeem Siddiqui in Rs 150 million tax evasion.

Sources told Customs Today that Naeem Siddiqui is the owner of computer supper market which is situated in Blue Area, an expensive and posh area of Islamabad.

Sources further revealed that he did not disclose his real income and is allegedly involved in Rs 150 million tax evasion.

Sources added that authorities arrested the suspect and presented him before the District and Sessions Court. Now the court has granted his two-day remand for further investigations.

Sources added that the accused has been admitted to PIMS hospital on poor health grounds.
