FBR starts homework to achieve revenue target

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started evolving a foolproof strategy to achieve the revenue target set for the current financial year.

According to details, for the execution of budgetary measures, consecutive meetings are being held at FBR Headquarters under the chair of FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa.

In this regard, an important meeting was held that was chaired by Tariq Bajwa while all the members including Member Customs Nisar Mohammad, Member IR-Policy Shahid Asad, Member Administration Shahid Hassan Jatoi, Member Legal Ahmed Dildar, Member IT Raina Ahmed and Member IR Operation Mohammad Ashraf attended it.

Earlier, Additional Chief Commissioner LTU Karachi Mr Khuhro briefed the participants about different measures.

On the occasion, the FBR members apprised the meeting about the measure taken to achieve the revenue target. The participants of the meeting also discussed the agenda of Chief Commissioner Conference.

According to sources, the FBR Chairman is likely to visit Lahore, Karachi and Sialkot after Eid to fine-tune strategy for achieving the revenue target.

While addressing to the meeting, the FBR chairman said that the officers must work hard in field formation, warned that stern action would be taken against anyone found involve in corruption, slackness or negligence.

Sources said that Tariq Bajwa was confident that if officers at field formation officers performed with sincerity, honesty and dedication, the revenue target for current year would achieve comfortably.

The sources said that similar directives were given to the participants of the Chief Commissioner Conference while Chief Collectors and Collectors’ conference will also be held to ensure collection of the projected revenue.
