FBR to scrutinise income tax returns filed by Axact from 2009 to 2015

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has constituted a special team comprising officials of Regional Tax Officers (RTO) in order to scrutinise the income tax returns data filed by M/s. Axact, world’s leading IT company,  it is learnt here.

Sources informed Customs Today that the authorities concerned have directed the officials of Regional Tax Office (RTO) to scrutinise the Income Tax returns of  M/s. Axact from 2009 to 2015.

The authorities concerned further asked the RTO team to take action against the world’s leading company as per the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.

The sources further revealed to this scribe that the RTO team constituted on the said matter has already started its investigation and it has found that M/s. Axact was involved in non-filing of Income Tax amounting to millions of rupees during the last five years.

It is pertinent to mention here that a foreign newspaper in its story revealed that IT company M/s Axact is involved in preparing and selling fake educational degrees of international universities and colleges and minting millions of rupees.
