Gujranwala: Anti-Corruption Establishment to take strict action against corrupt ‘Patwaries’

SIALKOT: – The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has evolved an effective strategy to find out millionaire “Patwaries” of the revenue department after getting the details of their assets, movable and immovable properties , as the provincial high ups of the ACE have also issued necessary directions to concerned ACE officials in Gujranwala Division and all of its districts  including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin , Hafizabad to make all out sincere efforts to find out the millionaire Patwaries and bring them to task.

According to the senior officials of ACE, the secret and intelligence agencies have sent their inquiry reports to the federal and provincial governments about the mounting corruption in the government departments in Gujranwala Division, disclosing that the revenue department’s Tehsildars , Naib  Tehsildars , Qannongos,  Gardawars and Patwaries have become the owners of the luxury houses, markets and plazas located in the posh areas due to  their large scale corruption and no legal action had yet been taken against them by any competent authority despite the registration of the several corruption and fraud cases against them, in this regard.

The said reports have revealed that the revenue department has topped in corruption in all the government departments in Gujranwala Division leaving behind the police department in corruption and bribery. Due to which the most of the local officials of the revenue department especially the Patwaries have become millionaire as they were now the owners of the luxury houses, big movable, non-movable properties including shopping centers, markets and Plazas (worth millions of rupees) in the posh areas through their undetected massive corruption and malpractices as well in Gujranwala Division and all of its six districts including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts as well.

According to reports most of the Patwaries were not going to perform their official duties after the start of computerized record system in revenue department. Now, the Patwaries were doing their personal business there.

The hundreds of corruption cases had already been registered against the local Patwaries, while several accused Patwaries had also been arrested red handedly while taking bribe from the people in this region. But, no necessary legal action had ever been taken against them.

Now, the ACE has also given special task to check all the assets of the accused Patwaries, in this regard…#
