KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Hyderabad has foiled a diesel smuggling bid and confiscated 40,000 litres of smuggled diesel worth over Rs 3.5 million.
As per details, Customs Intelligence deputy director, following information regarding the smuggling, formed a team to foil the smuggling attempt. The team intercepted a container near Hyderabad Toll Plaza and recovered diesel that was going to be supplied in internal Sindh.
The officials asked the driver to produce the documents regarding the legal import of the diesel but he could not produce the same on which the customs officials seized the items.
It may mention here that the Hyderabad Customs Intelligence had already failed a smuggling attempt of 38,000 litres of diesel.
