IHC adjourns hearing of reference filed against ATIR, FBR

ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a reference carrying complaint against Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue and officers of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

An IHC division bench, comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, heard the case and adjourned the hearing.

Ch Muhammad Asif filed the case through which the appellant had challenged an ATIR decision before the court carrying announcement in favor of RTO regarding recovery of outstanding tax amount Rs 4,927,413 under the head of income tax.

The appellant had prayed the court to set aside the decision announced by ATIR as well as the show cause notice issued by the RTO, Islamabad regarding the outstanding tax amount.

The appellant had submitted that the show cause notice issued to him in head of income tax was illegal and was based on mala-fide intentions.
