IHC directs ATIR to decide fate of case filed by Wah Industries

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court disposed of a case submitting plea to restrict FBR from recovering Rs 235,396,164 for the tax year 2013 from bank account of Wah Industries Limited.

IHC also directed the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) to decide the fate of a case filed by Wah Industries Limited within 60 days.

Wah Industries Limited’s petition was pending with the ATIR which carried a tax matter based on a LTU’s show cause notice, dated March 16, 2015, creating amount of Rs 235,396,164 for the tax year 2013.

IHC judge, Justice AamerFarooq heard the case and disposed it of with the directions to ATIR. Wah Industries Limited had submitted its complaint against ATIR and office bearers of Large Taxpayer’s Unit (LTU).

The appellant had challenged LTU’s deputy chief Inland Revenue’s decision creating demand of Rs 235,396,164 for the tax year 2013.
