IHC postpones hearing of cases during second week of March

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has heard the submissions of M/s Punjab Oil Mills, M/s Mobizone Pakistan (Private) Limited and others during second week of March.  A single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and another division bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mohsin Kiyaani heard the cases.

M/s Punjab Oil Mills had filed the case challenging an announcement made by the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR)-through which it had sustained decision announced by the department’s adjudication pertaining to the show cause notice issued to the company under the head of federal excise duty (FED).

M/s Punjab Oil Mills had filed the reference against ATIR and had challenged its announcement before the court. The FBR field office, Large Taxpayers Unit’s officers were also made respondents in the case.

The petitioner had prayed the court that issued order by the tax authority may kindly be suspended till the decision of appeal pending before the field office of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mohsin Kiyaani heard the complaint by M/s Mobizone Pakistan Private Limited which had filed the reference challenging show cause notice issued by the Large Taxpayers Unit, Islamabad.
