IHC to hear tax references filed against Customs Appellate Tribunal, FBR today

ISLAMABAD: Two division benches of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday (today) will hear a couple of tax references involving Customs Appellate Tribunal and field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

A divisional bench comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and another bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb would hear the cases.

Former bench would take on hearing a sales tax reference filed by commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Islamabad. This tax matter involves M/s Hub Power Company as respondent.

Later bench would hear income tax reference filed by M/s Shaigan Pharmaceutical (Private) Limited and another cases filed against Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad.

M/s Shaigan Pharmaceutical Private Limited had challenged a show cause notice issued to the company by the commissioner Inland Revenue, LTU.

Appellant Muhammad Nadeem had challenged decision announced by Customs Appellate Tribunal on imported goods’ duty valuation.
