Jhang ASO impounds Toyota Land Cruiser worth Rs 1m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Jhang has confiscated non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser worth Rs 1 million involving duty/taxes 341,760.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO received credible information through Faisalabad Model Customs Collectorate Collector Zulafqar Ali Chaudhary regarding the existence of non-duty paid vehicle.

Following the information, the ASO team intercepted a vehicle near Bhakkar Road, Jhang and asked Baz Gul, owner of the vehicle to show the documents regarding the payment of duty/taxes but he could not do same.

Therefore, the customs impounded the vehicle under Import and Export Control Act, 1950 punishable under Section 156(I) 89 (i) of the Custom Act, 1969.

The ASO team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Javed Mehmood Deputy Superintendent Sardar Muhammad, Inspectors Shukat Khan, Nazar Hussain and sepoys including Ghulam Abbas, Ghulam Sarwar, Muhammad Ajmal and Ahmad Bux conducted raid.
