LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department sealed 3,245 properties in different cities of the district and issued notices to defaulters to pay property tax with one-percent fine.
Excise Director General AKram Ashraf Gondal has directed all directors and taxation officer keep check and take strict action against defaulters in all districts of Punjab.
Following the instructions Excise and Taxation Officer Malik Muhammad Aslam formed special teams in the region to hold the property tax defaulters. The teams sealed properties, including shops, workshops, and factories in Kasur, Khudian and Chunian.
It may mention here that the owners of the sealed properties could not deposit their liable taxes by November 30, a deadline announced by the department.
