LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) sought explanation from Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on registration of cases against the sales tax defaulters.
According to the details, Justice Shahid Jameel Khan heard the case filed by the Bashir and Sons Steel Mills in which the counsel of appellant Muhammad Mohayyudin Virk argued before the court that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started the registration of cases against the sales tax defaulters.
In this regard the same has been registered against Bashir and Sons and under the sales tax law Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) cannot register the case against any defaulter. He prayed before the court for registering sales tax fraud case by the FBR against the sales tax defaulters.
After hearing the case Lahore High Court (LHC) sought the explanation from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) about the laws before the court. The court also sought the written explanation from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) regarding a case of Rs 40 million against Bashir and Sons steel mills on 10 March 2017.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned the hearing till 10 March.
