Multan Customs takes special measures to facilitate pilgrims ‏

MULTAN: The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan made special arrangements to facilitate pilgrims at the Multan International Airport.

According to details, first direct Haj flight of Pakistan International Airlines PK 735 carrying 142 pilgrims from Jeddah arrived at Multan International Airport here. Collector Customs Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich deployed 47 customs employees at Multan International Airport to facilitate them.

Deputy Collector Abdul Mueed Kanju and Assistant Collector Faizan Ahmad Badar are also performing their duties at Multan airport in different shifts. Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich directed both officers to ensure proper scanning of every pilgrims in order to avoid smuggling from Multan airport.

Almost 23 Haj flights will arrive at Multan airport during this Hajj operations and Haj pilgrims are also coming through connecting flights from other cities.

Assistant Collector MCC Faizan Ahmad Badar is conducting surprise visits at Multan International airport in order to check scrutiny from Customs staff at Multan airport.

Multan International Airport thwarted the attempt of smuggling imported non duty paid cell phones of Rs 14 million from Multan airport and after this incident Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich MCC Multan tightens the scrutiny at airport.

Air Freight Unit is also operational after inaugurations of Multan International Airport .Customs staff have also increased vigilance of passenger luggage in order to curtail smuggling from Multan airport. The Haj operation will continue till 23 October of this month.
