Multan ASO impounds non-customs paid Toyota Fielder of Rs 2m

MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded a non-customs paid Toyota Fielder during an action .

The ASO received information that a foreign origin vehicle has entered Multan through Muzaffargarh route. The team intercepted the vehicle bearing registration number AKY 323 X at Multan Bypass and asked the vehicle owner Rustom son of Muhammad Hassan, a resident of Jampur, to produce the documentary evidence of the vehicle possession. However, the documents provided by the owner found to be suspicious on which the ASO team seized the vehicle under section 168 of the Customs Act 1969.

Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Ali Rizvi, Inspector Zafar Iqbal, Inspector Asghar, Inspector Fayaz conducted the action against the smuggled vehicle. The value of the non-seized vehicle is Rs 2 million. Further investigation is underway.

Transfer:

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has cancelled the transfer orders of Deputy Collector Iqbal Memon for joining of his responsibilities at Customs Collectorate Multan.

According to the details, Deputy Collector Iqbal Memon was transferred from Collectorate of Appraisement (East) Karachi to Customs Collectorate Multan through a notification. Deputy Collector Iqbal Memon was not relieved by Collectorate of Appraisement (East) Karachi after his transfer.

Multan Customs was facing hurdles in handling their administrative matters due to absence of a deputy collector and all the charges were handed over to Deputy Collector Saad Ata Rabbani to run their Multan Customs affairs on daily basis.

The Federal Board of Revenue has transferred Assistant Collector Muhammad Ikram in the Customs Collectorate Multan from Customs Collectorate Lahore.

Assistant Collector Muhammad Ikram will join his responsibilities very soon in place of Deputy Collector Iqbal Memon at Multan Customs.

The Customs Collectorate has not given any responsibilities to another Assistant Collector Muhammad Zohaib after joining his charge due to absence of officer.
