Multan Customs Intelligence seizes non-duty paid car, auto parts of Rs 2.5m

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan region has seized a non-duty paid car and auto parts worth Rs 2.5 million in two different operations.

Sources told Customs Today that Field Investigation Unit (FIU) of Dera Ghazi Khan intercepted a car, Toyota Vitz bearing registeration number AMD- 665 during routine road checking in the city.

The customs officials demanded the legal import documents of the car but the driver could not produce the authorized papers. As a result, the officials seized the car and registered a case under the customs act 1969.

The expected value of the car is Rs 1 million. The seized car will be shifted to regional office within few days.

The FIU of Sadiqabad has also seized used half-cut Toyota body which is being claimed as a scrap along with smuggled auto parts of Rs 1.5 million in an operation under the customs act 1969.
