Multan Preventive recovers four NCP vehicles from DG Khan

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has recovered four various non-customs paid vehicles worth Rs6 million during successful raids at a private warehouse of tribal area of Dera Ghazi Khan.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Fayaz Anwar initiated the crackdown against smuggled vehicles under the special directions of Chief Collector Enforcement Centre Region Zeba Hai Azhar to curtail smuggling in South Punjab and anti-smuggling squad of Dera Ghazi Khan has stepped up its efforts in the jurisdiction.

It is also reliably learnt that the chief collector unified anti-smuggling strategy with Collector Fayaz Anwar to curb menace of smuggling in the South Punjab and Multan Customs Preventive has also accelerated crackdown in the territory for curbing menace of smuggled goods.

Collector received secret information from his source that some smuggled vehicles were parked in the private warehouse of tribal area of Kharar Buzdar area of Dera Ghazi Khan. Additional Collector Syed Ali Abbas formed special team which comprised of Inspector Asif Rafique Sandhu and others to take stern action against them.

Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization conducted joint operation with the assistance of Baluchistan Punjab Military Police and raided private place after seeking permission from Tribal Chief for the inspection of said warehouses located in the Kharar Buzdar area. Multan Customs recovered four foreign origin non-Customs paid vehicle of Toyota Alto during successful raid.

Customs teams recovered four foreign origins Toyota Alto which were displaying registration number of AVX-808/SINDH, AHX-577/Sindh, ACE-254 and one vehicle was without any registration number. Customs teams checked legal status of all vehicles which found non-customs paid during verification. Anti-Smuggling Squad shifted said four vehicles to Customs state ware House after framing seizure report.

Multan Customs has seized all recovered vehicles under Customs act 1969 and started action against owner for smuggling of vehicles. Further investigations against owners of vehicles are still under process.
