Multan RTO officials urges traders to avail benefits of Tax Amnesty Scheme

MULTAN: The officials of Regional Tax Office (RTO) Multan paid visits to different cities and met  traders’ associations and share the benefits of the government  approved Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (Amnesty Scheme) and addressed all related queries on the spot.

According to official sources, fourteen teams of RTO Multan, on the special instructions of Federal board of Revenue (FBR), have been visiting the traders’ associations of Multan and Sahiwal divisions to facilitate and educate the traders regarding the Tax Amnesty Scheme as the last date for availing benefits from this scheme has been set as February 29,2016.

The RTO’s inspectors including Masood-ul- Hassan, Ghulam Mustafa, Imran Farman, Tahir Masood, Mazhar Iqbal and Muhammad Aslam visited traders of Sahiwal, Harappa, Chichawatni,  Arifwala, Vehari, Burewala and Mailsi.

During their meetings with traders, the officials highlighted that the scheme offered a unique  and golden oppurtunity to the traders to become part of tax net and do their business with ease and comfort and without any fear of being audited for next four years (upto 2018).

The officers  emphasized that  under one page return form traders will file simplified income tax returs for tax years 2015-2018 and without prior approval of FBR, the Chief Commissioners or Commissioners will not send any  notice to the filers.

On this occasion, the informative and explanatory material about the scheme had also been distributed among the traders.

The Additional Commissioner Asma Huri has been appointed by the regional office  as a focal person while the Deputy Commissioners Kashif Hafeez and Qadir Nawaz as sub-focal persons for this scheme.
