Multan RTO to achieve target of Rs 8.2b tax collection in December

MULTAN: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Multan has directed the field formation officers to achieve the assigned target of Rs 8.2 billion under the heads of different taxes, including sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty (FED) for the month of December, 2015, it is learnt on Thursday.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has assigned the tax collection target  of Rs 8.2 billion to the Multan RTO for the the last month of this year and it is learnt that the regional tax office has already stimulated the field formation officers in this respect and they are trying in achieving the prescribed target of the FBR.

The statistics reveals that the regional office has to collect worth Rs 4 billion, Rs 4 billion and Rs 0.2 billion under the heads of sales tax, income tax and federal excise duties respectively during the ongoing month.

It is pertinent to mention here, that RTO Multan could not achieve the target of  FBR  worth Rs 7.4 billion as the regional office showed 6.7 percent decrease in tax collection and  generated Rs 6.90 billion  taxes against the fixed target of last month.
